One evening in December 1990, while contemplating the suffering and the tensions building in the world, again something began bursting inside.  It was a seemingly  boundless desire to reach out and touch all from some joyful, hopeful source.  We know things can be better, and we know we can make it happen in small ways.

Yes, there was still a Soviet Union then and the specific places mentioned were where some of our fellow humans were struggling and in the news at that moment.   

I’m an amateur musician.  I had a small 4 track recording device my brother gave me, with one track non functioning.   As with most all my recordings, Dubbing over myself, the recording took place in one evening, this one in my tiny bathroom (the acoustics were better).   Unprofessional, out of tune, and yes, a little corny, with the original tapes long gone, it is a sentiment which I still can clearly feel.

Tis true that Id more than Ramadan is akin to the others, but Ramadan rhymed better and it leads to Id.   All 3 sacred events occasionally fall within days of each other.    

I believe this Spirit  of “Christmas, Hanukah, Ramadan” will see it’s broader reality and vision materialize, someday.  No matter how much blood needs to be shed before we relearn and re-member, most humans know the universal bond and joy from whence it comes.    Please enjoy.
